Eligibility

Any student who has received a “Superior” or “1” rating in a local association festival, NFMC festival, MTNA eFestival, or UIL event from September 1 through April 15 of the current year is eligible.

Student Affiliate membership is not required for this activity.

There is no theory requirement.
General Information

The TMTA All-Star Festival is a noncompetitive TMTA performance event for solo piano, voice, and instrumental students.

Piano and voice pieces must be memorized. Instrumental pieces do not have to be memorized, but students must bring their own music stand.

Students are allowed one entry per instrument only.

Students must bring an original score to the event for the judges. All music must have measures numbered
either by individual measures or by the system/line prior to performing. -
Warm-up and performance combined may not exceed five minutes.

Performance times will be emailed to teachers in May.
a. Requests for any changes should be submitted by the teacher. No parental requests will be accepted.
b. Once times have been assigned, changes to the schedule will be made only if vacancies are available and
only if the student has time conflicts with other conference events.
Judging
1. If possible, the All-Star Festival will be adjudicated by TMTA Collegiate Student Chapter members.
2. TMTA Collegiate Student Chapter members who wish to adjudicate the All-Star Festival should apply on the
TMTA website.
Awards
The TMTEF Trustees supervise these awards.
1. Students will receive a gold medal for a Superior rating or a silver medal for an Excellent rating. 2. Students will receive a critique sheet.
