American Festival Repertoire Requirements for pianists:
American Festival repertoire for pianists must be original, solo compositions, not arranged, written by an
American composer (any composer born in the United States or any composer who became an American citizen,
for example: Rachmaninoff, Grainger, Reinagle, Bartok, Dohnanyi, Gretchaninov, Husa, Previn, Stravinsky,
Tcherepnin, and Peskanov). Memorization is required for pianists.
American Festival Repertoire Requirements for Instrumentalists:
American Festival repertoire for instrumentalists must be solo compositions written by an American composer
or a folksong by an American composer; however, arrangements and transcriptions will be allowed if the
piece is from the UIL prescribed music list, or recommended repertoire from a professional instrumental
organization. Check with the Registration Chair for final approval. Memorization is not required for
instrumentalists.
American Festival Repertoire Requirements for Vocalists:
American Festival repertoire for vocalists includes original solo compositions by an American composer or is
a folksong or spiritual arranged by an American composer. Music should be of a vocal training nature and
should not be of popular or musical theater origin. Memorization is required for vocalists.
Results:
Your manila envelope containing all your students’ certificates, critique sheets, and ribbons will be available
for pick up at Nadine’s Music Manor after 11:00 am on the Monday morning following the festival, or after
your last student has played on the festival day.
