Marina Ma — Growing Artistry, Another International First Prize
A student of Dr. Xinzhuo Li since 2023, Marina Ma has earned another international First Place, with IAPMT judges praising her musicality, beautiful tone, and expressive playing.
Marina Ma continues to turn steady effort into meaningful musical progress. A student of Dr. Xinzhuo Li at B&M Music School since 2023, she has grown through dedicated practice, recitals, festivals, and competitions—building both her skills at the piano and her confidence on stage.
Her latest milestone is First Place at the IAPMT Grand International Autumn Competition, organized by the International Association of Professional Music Teachers. This latest international recognition adds a new chapter to a journey shaped by perseverance, thoughtful preparation, and a growing ability to communicate through music.
The judges praised Marina’s musicality and polished interpretation, highlighting her beautiful tone, varied tonal colors, and expressive playing. They also recognized the fluency and clarity of her performance, supported by well-chosen fingerings and a strong sense of rhythm. One judge commended her for capturing the spirit of the piece, “combining careful preparation with expressive playing.”
These comments reflect an important part of Marina’s development: learning to make musical choices with intention. Under Dr. Li’s guidance, she continues to refine her touch, listen closely to her sound, and bring greater character and expression to each performance. Her willingness to keep learning remains central to her progress.
Behind this achievement is the continuing partnership between Marina, her teacher, and her family. Her parents’ encouragement and steady support have helped her approach challenges with patience and return to the piano with renewed focus.
B&M Music School warmly congratulates Marina and Dr. Xinzhuo Li on this achievement. We are proud of the dedication behind Marina’s success and look forward to the next chapter of her musical journey.
