Xinwei Chen began to learn piano from Professor Li Yong at Shenyang Conservatory at the age of 6. Won the 2009 Macau International Culture and Arts Festival First Prize in the Junior Division and the 2012 William Smith International Piano Competition Second prize. At the age of 11, she was admitted to Shenyang Conservatory of Music with Third place in piano and First place in music theory. At the age of 16, she had a solo piano recital. Then she studied piano with Professor Joseph Banowetz and piano pedagogy with Dr. Bradley Beckman at the University of North Texas and had her graduation recital in 2021. Xinwei is now pursuing her master's degree at the University of North Texas.
Xinwei has many years of teaching experience in piano, music theory, and aural skills. She is keen on and focuses on piano enlightenment education, which can effectively stimulate students' passion for music. She will develop unique teaching programs for students with different personality traits so that students can learn music in a fun and pleasant way. At the same time, let the students have solid basic skills, music comprehension, and expression. Music theory and ear training are also important parts of her teaching. She has the ability to perfect pitch, so she is highly sensitive to music. A variety of teaching can not only enable students to achieve on the piano but also improve students' musical literacy.
Xinwei's students have won: the 2021 Dallas solo competition Second Prize, 2022 Symphonic Festival Second, and Third Prizes. The Royal Conservatory's practical and theory exam: Level 1-8 First Class Honours with Distinction.
